Sunny Flower Garland

Thank you for choosing my Sunny Flower Garland pattern :)

For this pattern you will need:

Small amounts of various colours in the yarn of your choice. I used Stylecraft Special Double Knit but there is no reason why you can't use a different weight, just remember to use the appropriate hook size (I used a 4mm).
Buttons
A darning needle
An iron for blocking or pins and PVA glue

This pattern is written using UK crochet terms. Stitches used are: Chain, Double Crochet (DC) Half Treble (HTR) Treble (Tr) Slip stitch (Slp) and a Magic Ring.

When adding a new colour at the beginning of Round 3 leave a loop from Round 2 and draw up a loop of the new colour like this:

Round 1: Make a Magic Ring, Chain 1 and 10 DC into the ring.
Pull the ring closed so the stitches gather into a neat circle. Join the round with a Slp into the first DC made.

Round 2: Chain 1, DC into the same stitch, 2 DC in each stitch around. Join with a Slp into the Chain 1 at the beginning of the round. Fasten off.

Round 3: Join a new colour into the last Slp of Round 2. *Chain 8. 1 Tr in 3rd Chain from hook, 1 Tr in the next Chain, 1 HTR in each of the next 2 Chains, 1 DC in each of the next 2 Chains. Slp into the next DC of Round 2 (1 petal made). Slp into the next DC of Round 2*  Repeat 9 times (10 petals made). Fasten off.

Sew all the ends in neatly on the back of the flower. Sew a button on to front of the flower and add a hanging loop of yarn if you wish.

These flowers benefit from some blocking, I just gave mine a light steaming with the iron under a tea-towel with some spray starch. To make the flowers more durable pin them out on an old tea-towel and paint the reverse side with PVA glue and leave to dry.

I hope you enjoy making these flowers, please do let me know if you like the pattern or if there are any errors and I will sort them out. I would love to see your pictures of these, so please send them to me on twitter @hookingcrazy or pinterest abijamtastic :)
